If you have a power outage you can do the following:
- Do your neighbors have power?
- Are street lights on or traffic lights?
- Check the Hawaiian Electric website if you can at: https://www.hawaiianelectric.com/safety-and-outages/power-outages/oahu-outage-map to see if there are reported outage. If not, call to report the outage. (855) 304-1212, (808) 548-731. You can also report on line. https://www.hawaiianelectric.com/safety-and-outages/power-outages/report-oahu-outage
- Check your circuit breakers to make sure they are off so when the power comes back on it won't surge your appliances or computers. Leave one room on with the light on so you know the power comes back on.
- Unplug all your sensitive equipment like computers. If you want to file a damage claim see https://www.hawaiianelectric.com/safety-and-outages/power-outages/file-a-damage-claim. If you are a renter and an appliance is damaged because of a power outage, please file a claim with your account number and report it to the property manager.
